Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman postponed the party’s protest on October 15 ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Appealed to do so.
PTI Member of Assembly Asad Qaiser said in a statement that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had a telephonic contact and consulted him regarding postponing the protest in Islamabad and constitutional amendments.
He said that Maulana Sahib has appealed to postpone the October 15 protest in the context of Shanghai Conference and he has demanded to provide medical facilities to Imran Khan and give access to his personal physician.

Asad Qaiser said that Maulana Sahib also had a detailed discussion on the draft constitution and during this he presented the draft constitution prepared by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, in which there is harmony between the two political parties on many points.

After that, Asad Qaiser had a telephonic contact with Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch, in which Liaquat Baloch said that no meeting should be banned in Adiala Jail, protest is a constitutional and democratic right of political parties, SCO should be peaceful. Earlier, Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaquat Baloch welcomed Pakistan-hosted Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting on October 15-16 in Islamabad and said that the SCO conference was an honor for the entire nation, not the government or any party. The point is, political differences should be kept aside and national dignity should be given priority. On this occasion, PTI should postpone its protest and the government should accept PTI’s demand for a meeting with Imran Khan.
