The Nobel Prize in Economics is being awarded to the three economists “for studies on how institutions are shaped and affect welfare,” according to a statement from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
“Societies with “poor” rule of law and institutions that exploit the population do not create development or change for the better. Researching the awardees helps us understand why,” it points out.
