Job Description

Title: Marketing Manager

Reports to: Brand Marketing Director

Supervises: n/a

General Purpose:

You have an insatiable curiosity about life, are an enthusiastic consumer of culture, and are a talented storyteller through the written word and compelling imagery.  You have a discerning eye, pay attention to details, and uphold high standards for quality.

You’re social—both online and in person—and engender trust as you build relationships through your ability to listen and your natural tendency to care.

Committed to building long-term brand value and loyalty through influencing community engagement, the Marketing Manager will lead creative efforts behind social content development, fan interaction, and reputation monitoring. As a cross-functional collaborator, creative problem solver, and innovative thinker who is simultaneously consumer-focused and results-oriented, you’ll be responsible for driving success at two independent 21c properties.

Specific Responsibilities:

Social Media //

  • Develop and deploy social content reflective of 21c purpose and values, including engagement, tagging, replying, etc.
  • Generate content with your phone as needed in both the hotel and restaurant.
  • Plan and manage regular social planning meetings with Sales & Marketing, Museum, and F&B teams.
  • Create and present a planned monthly social calendar to the Brand Marketing Director.
  • Work with property senior leadership to grow engagement and revenue.

Marketing //

  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team on property marketing strategy. Manage strategies from initiative development through execution.
  • Lead property quarterly calendar development.
  • Gather and analyze data from multiple sources to understand performance and shape strategic direction.
  • Assist with the development of property-level assets (including photography and video) as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining digital asset management tools.

Digital //

  • Manage property and restaurant website content.
  • Manage multi-property level email marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the development and execution of digital and social advertising with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Oversee Digital Advertising Agency for paid search and social campaigns, providing hotel insights and goals gathered from the hotel team.

Community Engagement //

  • Cultivate strong relationships with like-minded community partners to create programming and cross-promotional strategies alongside the Museum Manager and/or Property Leadership. Be good neighbors and friends in all communities.
  • Be an enthusiastic team member at property and community events, jumping in and assisting as necessary.

Public Relations:

  • Work alongside the corporate PR team to execute annual strategies across properties.
  • Coordinate with the corporate public relations team and serve as the local contact for press opportunities.

Meetings:

  • Participate in bi-weekly Brand Marketing Team calls
  • Responsible for hosting monthly marketing meetings with property senior leadership to guide strategy
  • Attend monthly Brand team meetings and revenue calls.

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • A passion for community, contemporary art, food & beverage, and travel.
  • Extraordinary communicator, enthusiastic storyteller, exceptional writing skills and visual aesthetic
  • Demonstrated analytical skills/metrics driven
  • Strong planning and project management competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and managing several priorities at once
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with guests, team members, external business partners and third-party vendors
  • Business-oriented and consumer-driven
  • Ability to act as an ambassador of 21c Museum Hotels and related brands and demonstrate confidence in his/her knowledge of the history, brand values, vision, and direction
  • Working knowledge of Canva preferred
  • Experience with results-driven social media, content creation, and reporting is strongly preferred
  • Experience with digital marketing campaigns and analytics
  • Experience working within WordPress is strongly preferred
  • Experience in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local art community is beneficial.
  • Interest in / working knowledge of advancements in technology and best practices related to website, digital marketing, and social media
  • Proactive, Flexible, Curious, Positive Attitude, Team Player

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 4 to 5 years of related experience in marketing or social media
