Saira Banu insists Dilip Kumar on meeting Madhu Bala – Life & Style

After Dilip Kumar‘s marriage, his wife Saira Banu insisted on meeting his old love.

Before Dilip Kumar’s marriage to Saira Banu, Dilip Kumar and Madhu Bala broke up, but when Madhu Bala requested a meeting with Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu asked to meet him.

Javed Akhtar explained the reason why the first marriage failed

Dilip Kumar married 22-year-old Saira Bano at the age of 44. In the past, his romantic relationship with Madhubala was popular across the country, but they broke up during the filming of the famous Mughal Azam.

Despite being separated from each other, both could not be separated from each other. They had a special bond with each other and Saira, who had full faith in her husband, never objected to it. Soon after Dilip and Saira got married in 1966, they received a message from Madhubala requesting an urgent meeting with Dilip Kumar.

Instead of asking her husband why his ex-love wants to meet her, Saira insists that they go meet Madhubala.

Dilip Kumar has retold this story in his biography ‘The Sebastian and the Shadow: An Autobiography’. He said that one of Saira’s qualities that stood out to him was that she lived in the present and never dwelled on the past.

He said that after the wedding, when he was living in Madras (now Chennai), possibly for the shooting of Ram and Shyam, he received a message from Madhubala. Soon after our Nikah (marriage), when we were living in Madras, I got a message from Madhubala that she wanted to meet me immediately. As soon as we returned to Bombay, I told Saira about this message. Saira immediately insisted that I should meet Madhu as they would have some affair together which she was worried about.
