It’s the call Enhance Dialogue (Enhance Dialogue).
Using machine learning and computational audio, it enables you to experience superior vocal clarity with active speech detection across all sound channels.

Compatibility
The Enhance Dialogue function is available on the following devices:
- iPhones: iPhone 11 from the back
- iPads: iPad (10th generation), iPad Air (4th generation and later), iPad Air (M2), iPad Pro (M4), 11″ iPad Pro (3rd generation and later), 12.9″ iPad Pro (5th generation and later) and iPad mini (6th generation).
In the case of Apple TVs, the company does not specify which models are compatible, but this should probably apply to all models updated to tvOS 18.
How to Enable Dialog Enhancement on iPhone/iPad
With content open in the TV app on your iPhone/iPad, tap the three dots, “Audio” and “Improve Dialogue”. You will see two options (in addition to “Disabled”).
“Intensify” makes the dialogue very prominent in the mix, while “Enhance” makes it more prominent in the mix.
How to Enable Dialogue Enhancement on Apple TV
For Apple TV, show the on-screen playback controls, swipe up on the clickpad or on the Siri Remote touch surface and choose the icon represented by a sound wave.
Then, choose “Improve Dialogue” and one of the options.
