The Trump camp calls the movie “The Apprentice” malicious garbage

The film, which is about Trump‘s life in New York in the 1970s and 80s, premiered in the United States on Friday.

Trump’s associates are lashing out at the film’s director, Danish-Iranian Ali Abbasi, and say the film is malicious and defamatory.

– This garbage here is pure fiction, with sensationalist lies that have long since been cleared up, says Steven Chung, spokesman for Trump’s election campaign staff.

Director Abbasi does not take the criticism very seriously.

– If both sides get angry, then we must have done something right, he adds CNN.

Abbasi says he has received criticism from liberals for not being critical enough of Trump, while the Trump camp criticizes the film for being too critical of the presidential candidate.

He also suggests that many of those who criticize the film may not have seen it.

– Roger Stone recently saw the film, he supports Trump and is one of his old friends. He liked the film and praised us for the portrait of Roy Cohn, says Abbasi. Roy Cohn was a lawyer and Trump’s mentor in his young years.

The Apprentice” is a fictional film based on Trump and his relationship with Cohn. The film follows Trump from his youth and his way into the business empire he eventually built. Trump himself has yet to comment on the film.

When “The Apprentice” had its world premiere in Cannes in May, Trump polished his lawyers on Abbasi and the film company. It took a long time to clarify the distribution in the United States, where many are afraid of falling out of favor with the Republican presidential candidate.

The film will be released in Norwegian cinemas on 18 October.
