Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) has nationwide transmission and distribution works worth USD 450 million to strengthen the electrical system.
This investment is classified as USD 300 million for the transmission system and USD 150 million in distribution.
Among them are works to change drivers and increase the capacity of the substations in Asunción and the Metropolitan Area, indicated the president of ANDE, Félix Sosa.
In the 23,000 volt substations, transmission capacity will be increased by 11%, he said in an interview with Paraguay TV. “At 23,000 volts, consumption historically increases by 6.5% annually and we are increasing by 11% to be much better,” he said.
For the distribution of the electrical system, the change from bare conductors to protected ones is carried out to minimize out-of-service. “Our data indicates that on average the quality of service improves by 80% with this change,” Sosa highlighted.
ANDE plans to invest USD 370 million in works this year to expedite the institution’s Master Plan to increase the capacity of the national electrical system.
