Operation Fénix: clandestine aircraft workshop in Luque is dismantled

Asunción, IP Agency.- It was during the raid on a luxurious home in the Mora Cué neighborhood of Luque, in the back of which there was a shed where technical aircraft repair work was carried out, directed by the owner, a military personnel, aviation mechanic, who provides service in the Paraguayan Air Force.

All activities were carried out irregularly, since they did not have authorization from the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (Dinac).

This operation was carried out by special agents from the Intelligence Directorate of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad), in coordination with the prosecutor of the Specialized Unit in the fight against Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime.

According to data collected during the investigation, a clandestine workshop operated there that was dedicated to acquiring damaged aircraft to repair and market them.

A Cessna TP 206 D aircraft, completely restored, was found on the property, which was in the final process of completion; in addition to aircraft engines, ailerons, emergency equipment, locators, instrument panels, propellers, spare parts and various parts in large quantities.

The intervening prosecutor ordered the dismantling of the premises and the seizure of all evidence, in addition to cell phones and various documents of great importance for the investigation.

The analysis of evidence and data to be collected is awaited for the possible indictment and arrest of the man according to the provisions of the intervening prosecutor, reports the Senad.
