Within July, the vote on the tax bill

The visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance has ended, where the major issues of the economy were discussed with the financial staff, while – as it became known – the framework of the first bill to be tabled by the ministry was also discussed.

The Prime Minister in his statements stated the following:

“It was with great pleasure that I started the cycle of visits to Ministries today, at the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, in a very productive discussion with the new financial staff.

Once again, I wish the Minister, the Deputy Minister, and the two Deputy Ministers strength in the difficult task they have undertaken.

But, as the Minister also said, we are optimistic about the course of the economy, about the high growth rates that we want to achieve, which are the central goal of our economic policy so that we can implement the substantial convergence with Europe.

We are optimistic about the gradual transformation of the economic model of the Greek economy into a model that will be more productive, more extroverted, more innovative. And we are, of course, absolutely convinced that this economic development will ultimately have an impact, a substantial impact on improving the incomes of all Greeks, primarily our low-wage fellow citizens.

As the Minister also said, before the summer holidays of the Parliament, the first bill of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance will have been passed, in which the central pre-election commitments presented by the New Democracy before the elections will now be legislated. concerning the following year, 2024.

Many of them will have a significant economic impact on the incomes of citizens and this bill will be passed, as I said, before the beginning of August.

For more details, I refer to the government’s Program Statements and my own position, which will set the overall framework of economic policy for the next four years.”

K. Hatzidakis: Answer to those who questioned the reliability of our promises

K. Hatzidakis said that “we have started the work at the Ministry of National Economy and Finance! And we are optimistic. Optimistic because, firstly, we are stepping on the solid foundations that were laid in the last four years. Secondly, because we have a very positive election result for the country and for the economy of Greece. A result which sends a message of confidence, hope and perspective for the Greek economy.

And at the same time we discussed with the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the framework of the first bill that the Ministry of National Economy and Finance will submit to the Parliament and which will concern the fulfillment of the basic commitments of the New Democracy before the elections. In this way we give an answer to those who questioned the reliability of our promises and we remain faithful to the path we had paved. We say little and do everything!”
