Speaker of the US House of Representatives: Biden is not in a position to impose a military strategy on Israel

“He is not in a position to dictate a military strategy to Netanyahu,” Johnson said in an interview with Punchbowl News.

According to the newspaper, Johnson affirmed his “support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” but at the same time he refused to clarify whether he believed that Israel should strike Tehran’s nuclear facilities as a response to the missile strike launched by Iran on October 1 against Israel.

Iran launched an attack on Israel on October 1 with a heavy barrage of missiles, in response to the assassination of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese faction movement, Hassan Nasrallah, and the official responsible for the Lebanon file in the Iranian Quds Force, Abbas Nilfaroushan.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, “Iran’s attack on the Zionist entity was to bring peace to the region, stop Israeli attacks, and contain the tensions caused by those attacks in the entire region.”

He added, “The Iranian attacks were carried out in accordance with the United Nations Charter, and that the Iranian Air Force directed its missiles only at Israeli military targets.”

Israel vowed to respond, noting that “Iran made a mistake and will pay the price.”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant confirmed that Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel was “more aggressive and powerful, but inaccurate,” stressing that the Israeli response will be “deadly, precise, and surprising.”

Meanwhile, American officials said that the United States is studying options for responding to the Iranian missile attack on Israel.

For its part, the Revolutionary Guard said that it would respond more forcefully to Israel if it carried out “any new recklessness.”

The countries of the region fear the escalation of tension between Israel and Iran, which could drag the region into a comprehensive regional war.
