A 4-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja heard the petitions to change the election tribunal of the three constituencies of Islamabad, Aamir Mughal’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Advocate and Anjum Aqeel Khan’s lawyer also appeared in the Election Commission.
During the hearing of the case in the Election Commission, bitter words were exchanged between lawyer Faisal Chaudhry and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
Faisal Chaudhry Advocate said that I have just been told by the son of Anjum Aqeel Khan that he is not being contacted, the Election Commission has instructed the staff to read the order of the previous hearing.
The Chief Election Commissioner asked the lawyer Anjum Aqeel Khan what do you want?, to which the lawyer of Anjum Aqeel Khan said that we have submitted the amended petitions, 2 hearings have been held, no response.
Lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said that I have yet to submit the representation, I should be given time to submit the reply.
Speaking to Faisal Chaudhry, the Chief Election Commissioner said that you should not try to dictate to us, on which Faisal Chaudhry said that you should keep your voice down and decide on our request.
During the hearing, there was a repetition between Faisal Chaudhry and the Chief Election Commissioner. Faisal Chaudhry said that we do not come here to disrespect ourselves.
In the courtroom, Fawad Chaudhry kept persuading Faisal Chaudhry to apologize to the Election Commission, but Faisal Chaudhry said that he will not apologize to the Election Commission.
Appearing before the Election Commission on behalf of Amir Mughal, Faisal Chaudhry said that Amir Mughal’s son has told that he is not able to contact his father.
The Election Commission directed that you should submit the answer in the case by 11:30, to which Faisal Chaudhry replied that it is not possible to submit the answer by 11:30, Aamir cannot answer without contacting Mughal.
Fawad Chaudhry requested an apology from the Chief Election Commissioner but the Chief Election Commissioner got up and left.
Later, the Election Commission adjourned the hearing of the case till October 17.
