In the midst of the dossier scandal, the Perugia investigation into the Anti-Mafia wormhole, news breaks of a new case of espionage, which comes from Bitonto, where an employee of Banca Intesa, from 2022 to last August, snuck into the accounts current accounts of hundreds of customers, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, her sister Arianna, her ex-partner Andrea Giambruno and dozens of other government officials, together with entrepreneurs and VIPs. The newspaper Domani revealed the news of the investigation opened in Bari.

The spying official, discovered by chance thanks to the suspicion of an account holder, was fired and Banca Intesa, the credit institution that acts as treasurer for parliamentarians, started checks, ascertaining that the bank, in two years, made 7 thousand illegal access to over 3,500 customers with their wallets in 679 branches spread across Italy. Among these, in addition to the Meloni family, there is the minister Guido Crosetto, already victim of the dossier made to the Anti-Mafia by the financier Pasquale Striano, investigated in competition for illegal access to the databases and revelation of the secret together with the former prosecutor Antonio Laudati and to the three reporters of Domani, Giovanni Tizian, Nello Trocchia and Stefano Vergine, to whom the investigator passed the confidential documents which had become exclusive to the newspaper.

And again the ministers Daniela Santanché and Raffaele Fitto, the president of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, the governors of Puglia and Veneto, Michele Emiliano and Luca Zaia respectively. And even the national anti-mafia prosecutor Giovanni Melillo, the very person who, upon his arrival in Via Giulia, had noticed the SOS sieve and had tightened the circle around the spy team, providing the prosecutor Raffaele Cantone with the elements useful for the investigation. The banker is now under accusation for having violated the secrecy of hypersensitive data on political figures and investigators are trying to shed light on the motive that pushed the banker to spy on the usual suspects.
