SSP West Tariq Mastoi gave the details of the police encounter that the search operation was going on in Ghazi Goth near Manghopir, during which a tip-off was received in Gulshan Tawheed that 2 robbers on motorcycles were present in the area.
He said that as soon as the information was received, the area was cordoned off and at one point there was an exchange of fire with the robbers. Tariq Mastoi said that 5 robbers were killed as a result of police retaliatory firing.
On the other hand, sources privy to the matter said that the dead robbers were shifted to Abbasi Hospital. SSP West said that the identity of the dead robbers could not be identified yet.

Tariq Mastoi said that SMG weapons, motorcycles and other items were also recovered from the possession of the five dead robbers. The group of robbers had looted several houses in the area.
According to SSP West, the residents of the area said that the accused were committing a crime in the house, in the exchange of firing, 2 robbers were killed on the spot and 3 were injured, while 3 robbers died during treatment.
Tariq Mastoi said that one of the bandits was identified as Saddam, apart from robbing houses, there are also reports of rape. The accused belong to Sindh.
On the other hand, after the alleged encounter in New Karachi Khamiso Goth, the accused was arrested by the police in an injured state.
According to the police, pistol, mobile phone and motorcycle have been recovered from the arrested accused while his accomplice managed to escape.
