He emphasized that Hezbollah “now wants a ceasefire unrelated to Gaza,” which has “its own terms,” but in the last year it has been attacking “the other side of the border,” referring to Israeli territory, maintaining that It would not stop until there was a truce in the Gaza Strip.

He noted that Washington, although it wants “to see a diplomatic solution to this conflict, supports” Israel’s efforts to degrade Hezbollah’s capabilities.
“We believe that, ultimately, that is the only resolution that will provide real and lasting security to both the Israeli and Lebanese people,” Miller said before adding that he does not trust Hezbollah to accept a ceasefire since it did not implement the resolution. of the UN Security Council on laying down arms and withdrawing from the border.
