The witness, who opens the cycle of coroner’s testimony in the trial, which had several interruptions due to a problem with a member of the bench, had conducted an examination of Malena’s body, ruling that the child’s death, in 2019, was due to liver failure. However, the report of medical examiners Nikos Karakoukis and Nikos Kalogrias does not agree with Ms. Tsakona’s scientific assessment, who later assessed that Malena, like Iris in 2021, died due to suffocation caused by an external factor.
