The 24th edition of begins on Friday, October 11th Edimotion in the Filmforum Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Over four days, the festival focuses on outstanding assembly achievements and invites you to film and workshop discussions with creative people. One of the highlights of the festival is the awarding of the Schnitt Prizes on October 14th.

Cut prices 2024
A total of 19 nominated films compete for the editing prizes in three competition categories: the Filmstiftung NRW Editing Prize Feature Film (endowed with 7,500 euros), the Picture art cut price Documentary film (endowed with 7,500 euros) and The Edit Space funding award editing (for short films, endowed with 2,500 euros). The editors are among those nominated Agustina Sánchez Gavier for “Our Shadow“, Ulf Albert for “Don’t forget Meyn” and David J. Achilles for “Falling Into Place“, all productions supported by the Film Foundation.

Honorary Editing Award for Gabriele Voss
Every year, Edimotion honors the life’s work of outstanding film editors with the Honorary Editing Award and Homage. This year the editor and author Gabrielle Voss honored for their life’s work. The perception theorist with a doctorate is one of the most influential chroniclers in Germany and the Ruhr area. Primarily in collaboration with filmmaker Christoph Hübner, she made the realities of mining, art, the world of sports and numerous other areas of society tangible on film.

Edimotion Goes Green
Since 2021, Edimotion has been the first festival in NRW to be completely climate-neutral. Specifically, for the festival organizers this means, among other things, avoiding all air travel, using alternative shuttle options, using a climate-friendly hotel as a partner, using green electricity and thinking about accessibility, inclusion and diversity. Together with the NRW Energy Agency, the emissions incurred were determined after the 2021 festival and offset with the help of Planted. Edimotion Goes Green is supported by, among others Film and Media Foundation NRW supports.
