Eastern Winds of Change: Bollywood’s ‘Missing Ladies’ Captivates Japan

The movie “Missing Ladies” which is a huge success in India has also been released in Japan.

According to Indian media, Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Karan Rao’s super hit film ‘Lapatha Ladies’ was released in Japanese cinemas yesterday along with the Japanese version, which is believed to be a Japanese equivalent of India. I will also be successful.

Earlier, the film has also been nominated for the International Film category at the Oscars 2025.

The film, which is doing great business at the box office, has also won the best film critics award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

It should be noted that ‘Lapata Ladies’ was released in India on 1st March this year and the film was well received from the first day of its release. The film was produced by Karan Rava and Aamir Khan.

The story of the film is based on the award-winning story of Biplab Goswami. Depicting the simplicity and oblivion of rural India, the film is about a man who loses his real wife during a train journey and takes another bride with him because of Ghongat.

The cast of the film includes Pratibharantha, Sparash Shrivastava and Nitashi Goyal. The film was also released on OTT platform Netflix on 26 April.
