Savoring Roots: Pilar’s Founding Anniversary Celebration Spotlights Artisanal Producers and Community Treasures

Asunción, IP Agency.- Families from several communities in the department of Ñeembucú offer their products, without intermediaries this Thursday, in adherence to the festivities of October 12, to celebrate the traditional Patron Saint Festival for the 245 years of founding of the city of Pilar.

The fair takes place at the Copaco property, on Avda. Antequera esq/Alberdi and Sargento Azzarini in the city of Pilar, from 07:00 a.m., until supplies last.

It is promoted by the government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, with the support of the Itaipú Binational Entity, in order to promote the development and dynamism of the productivity of rural families in the country.

It benefits 239 families and 20 organizations from Pilar, Alberdi, Cerrito, Desmochados, General Díaz, Guazucua, Isla Umbu, Humaitá, Mayor José Martínez, Paso de Patria, Villalbin, Villa Franca, Tacuaras and San Juan Bautista.

At this Family Farming Fair they offer Paraguay cheese, pork, suckling pig, goat, sheep, homemade chicken, duck and homemade egg. In addition to corn, corn flour, red beans, honey, peanuts, peky butter beans, habilla and peky beans. Likewise, starch, tomatoes, peppers, cassava, sweet potatoes, greens in general, seasonal fruits, grains in general, a variety of typical and traditional foods, crafts, flowers and plants, among other products.

The Government of Paraguay, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and its technical departments, promotes Family Agriculture Fairs, favoring the development and dynamism of the productivity of rural families in the country.
