Roads to Resilience: How Rural Paraguay is Paving a Path to Prosperity

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications carried out maintenance and improvement work on road infrastructure in the departments of Misiones, Ñeembucú and Itapúa, in reference to Camino Day, celebrated last October 5.

In Misiones, District No. 8 of the MOPC carried out patching and platform profiling on the Panchito López – Yabebyry section; also in 3 Bocas – Santa María, cleaning and channeling; while in the community of Sarandy – Santa María, cleaning and channeling in multiple sectors.

In the department of Ñeembucú, road interventions focused on platform profiling work. District No. 12, with its equipment and machinery, carried out maintenance on the Isla Umbú – Mayor Martínez section, as well as on the route that connects Villalbín with Desmochados, significantly improving passability on these routes, crucial for the region.

In the department of Itapúa, profiling, platform coating, cleaning and shaping of ditches and cutting of vegetation in the domain strip were carried out. These works benefited more than 400 families that include the towns of Carlos Antonio López, San Rafael del Paraná, San Pedro del Paraná, José Leandro Oviedo, and the San Pedro – José Leandro Oviedo section.

With these actions, Camino Day was celebrated reaffirming its firm commitment to the development of the country’s road infrastructure, directly contributing to raising the quality of life of Paraguayans, by facilitating connectivity between the different regions and promoting economic and of the benefited communities, reports the Ministry of Public Works.
