On the other hand, 90.64% of debtors owe amounts up to 10,000 euros, which cover a total of only 3.5% of all debts.
This element emerges from the new statistical data of AADE on overdue debts to the tax authorities, which were made public yesterday through the quarterly report of the Budget Office of the Parliament, but also from the Independent Authority itself.

In detail, the AADE data show the following:
1 The total amount of overdue debts to the Tax Administration was, on 1/8/2024, at 107.271 billion euros, marking an increase of 2.198 billion euros compared to 1/8/2023. Of the total amount of 107.271 billion euros, 41.18 billion euros are owed by natural persons and 66.091 billion euros are owed by legal entities.
2 Between January and July 2024, new overdue debts to the Tax Administration totaling 4.315 billion euros were created. This amount was increased by 11.5% compared to the amount of the corresponding period last year (3.871 billion euros).
3 Amounts of debts over 1 million euros cover 77% of the total amount of overdue debts to the Tax Administration. Specifically, the sum of overdue debts in this category amounted to 82.583 billion euros on 1-8-2024. The 82.583 billion euros are owed by just 0.2% of all debtors, i.e. just 9,487 natural and legal persons. On the contrary, 90.64% of the debtors, i.e. 3,471,341 debtors out of a total of 3,829,531, owe only 3.5% of the total debts, i.e. only 3.76 billion euros!
