He denies himself laughter and love and tries to cheat his way through life unscrupulously.
“The Bust of the Emperor”, a novella that was printed in the Pariser Tagblatt in 1935 and takes us to Galicia, to the small village of Lopatyny. The focus is on Count Morstin, who cannot come to terms with the end of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and still dreams of restoring the multi-ethnic state.
