Villa Ygatimí-Ko’ê Porã Colony Road Takes its First Steps Toward a Brighter Tomorrow

Asunción, IP Agency.- The long-awaited asphalting arrived at Villa Ygatimí-colony Ko’e Porã, in the department of Canindeyú. The intervened section already has 5 kilometers of asphalt and 17 kilometers of cement soil, according to the company responsible for the work.

This project, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), covers about 21 kilometers until reaching the Itanará stream, border with the department of San Pedro.

The initiative is part of a strategic corridor for agricultural and livestock production in the region, connecting Villa Ygatimí with General Resquín, passing through the Itanará and San Vicente area, until it intersects with the PY08 route, from where they will be accessible ports of Antequera and Villa del Rosario.

This new route will directly benefit more than 15,000 inhabitants and its completion is scheduled for the end of this year, according to the MOPC report.

It will have a width of 6.4 meters and shoulders of 1.5 meters on both sides. The road structure includes a subbase layer of cement soil, stabilized granular base, asphalt primer, adhesive irrigation, simple surface treatment on the shoulder and asphalt concrete layer.

All these works are carried out by the company Wheel Co SA, with an investment of G. 47,291,659,831, under the supervision of Inconpar SA, as part of MOPC Call No. 05/2022 “International Public Tender for the Rehabilitation of the Villa section Ygatimi – Ko’e Porã – Itanará stream, Section 1”, with ID No. 408,887.

Its financing comes from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) within the framework of the “Neighborhood Road Improvement Program II.” The completion period is 540 calendar days, having started in the first months of 2023.
