Riyadh: Iran’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Aragchi visited Saudi Arabia. He met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad Bin Salman in Riyadh. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to resolve them. They also reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries. In the meeting, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaid Al-Aiban also participated in the discussion. Iran’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Alireza Inayati and senior officials of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting on behalf of Iran.

After the meeting with the Saudi leaders, Araghchi announced in his post on X that he held very important discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on critical issues of common concern in the region.
Iran’s foreign minister said regional cooperation is needed to overcome the current challenging situation. The actions of the Israeli government are dragging the region into a disaster. “Insight, wisdom, courage and cooperation are what the sector needs to overcome these challenging times,” he added in the post.
In another post in Arabic with a background image of the Saudi foreign minister, Araghchi stated that Iran and Saudi Arabia joining forces can bring security and stability to the region and this requires high-level political will. Geography always keeps us neighbors and faith always makes us brothers, he said in a message posted late Wednesday night.
Referring to the meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan, Iran’s Foreign Minister stated in another post that the first steps of a long journey with Saudi Arabia have begun. In another message on his X Media platform in Farsi, the Iranian foreign minister prayed for the dignity and pride of all Muslims.
Bilateral relations and regional issues, particularly Palestine and Lebanon, are high on the agenda of the Iranian foreign minister’s regional tour, local media reported, citing sources from both countries. Before leaving for Riyadh on Tuesday, Araghchi said Iran would seek to strengthen ties with its neighbors to ensure stability and security and develop economic cooperation in a way that serves all the peoples of the region.
