PTM in a statement confirmed the death of three of its workers and alleged that security personnel opened fire directly.

The statement said that among the dead are Khel Wazir, Taif Wazir and Ramzan Atman. The local police authorities have not yet reacted to the incident.

He said that some of the injured have undergone surgeries while others are yet to undergo them.

ID cards of PTM supporters to be blocked: Home Minister

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that action will be taken against those supporting PTM and identity cards will be blocked.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told media representatives in Islamabad that after the ban on PTM, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has included 54 people in the Fourth Schedule.

He said, ‘Can anyone be allowed to bear arms?’

He said that the law and order situation in KP is very bad and the concept of ‘soft state’ will be abolished.

‘Whoever talks about separation from the state is our enemy.’

He said that the government is ready to sit and talk with those who talk about rights, but not with those who take up arms.

The interior minister said that no parallel court system will be allowed.

A large number of PTM protesters have gathered at the Jirga venue. A delegation consisting of local police officers met Malik Naseer Khan, the host of the jirga and head of the Kokikhel tribe, at the jirga ground.

In the meeting, the police officers said that there are orders from the higher authorities that no kind of meeting will be held in this field because it is not allowed.

On this, Malik Naseer said that Jirga is a Pashtun tradition and we do not need any kind of permission for Jirga, so instead of causing bloodshed, the police should vacate the Jirga ground as soon as possible.

The police officers said, “We are government employees and it is our obligation to abide by the government’s time order, so the workers should vacate the ground and go to a room and hold a jirga.”

The police delegation said that some members of the Jirga should meet the Chief Minister, the Governor and other officials above and discuss the matter with them because we have orders and we will not allow the Jirga to take place here.

‘The chief minister is trying to find a peaceful solution to the issue’

Information Adviser to Chief Minister KP Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said in a video message that the federal government has issued a notification to abolish PTM, after which the organization is legally allowed to hold any kind of political gathering, rally and procession. Cannot be given.

He said that after this development, the banned organization cannot be allowed to hold its announced meeting from 11 to 13 October.

According to Barrister Saif, the banned organization had announced a gathering in Khyber district in the past few days, after which the district administration had banned all such activities under Section 144.

“Despite all these legal measures, when the banned organization tried to gather in this area, they clashed with the police.”

When the chief minister got the information about this incident, he took immediate notice and called the PTI members of the provincial assembly belonging to the area and asked them to go to their area and solve the problem. In this regard, he also contacted the elders of Kuki Khel to resolve the matter.

According to Barrister Saif, the administration’s efforts should keep these situations under control. “The chief minister is trying hard to resolve the issues peacefully.”

Earlier, a senior officer of Peshawar Police said that after the crackdown on the venue of PTM Jirga last night, FC is in control of the ground.

A senior officer said on condition of anonymity: ‘A crackdown was carried out last night but no one was arrested as the participants vacated the premises peacefully.’

According to the police officer, trenches were dug there this morning and now the field is empty, where policemen are stationed.

On October 11, PTM had announced to hold a jirga called ‘Pashtun Qaumi Jirga/Court’ against the ongoing unrest across the province, in which leaders of all political parties, nationalists and others from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan would participate. Various leaders have been invited to participate.

PTM The head of the Jirga, Manzoor Pashteen, wrote on Facebook last night about the crackdown that security personnel have dug trenches at the venue of the Jirga.

He wrote: ‘Our position has remained that according to our traditions we are not even getting permission for a jirga, but now there will be a jirga and now the jirga has become even more necessary.’

The decision to take action against PTM has been taken after the federal government banned the organization on October 6.

The federal government has included PTM in the list of banned organizations while several leaders including the head of the organization Manzoor Pashteen have been included in the Schedule Four list.

The Schedule Four list is under the anti-terrorism provisions, which includes persons whom the state suspects of spreading extremism.

Regarding PTM, a letter was also issued by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday, in which government employees and students are prohibited from participating in any PTM activities.

According to the post: ‘Since PTM is now a banned organisation, it is a legal offense to participate in or fund the activities of this organisation.’

Member of National Assembly from Peshawar of PTI, Arbab Sher Ali, has also visited the ground of Jirga yesterday and wrote on X that ‘Participation in Jirga is beyond the political line.’

Similarly, President of PTI Peshawar Region Muhammad Asim supported Arbab Sher Ali’s tweet and said, “Personally, I support this position.”

Federal government should provide reasons for ban on PTM: Peshawar High Court

On the other hand, the Peshawar High Court has asked on Wednesday that the federal government should provide the reasons for the ban on the Pashtun Protection Movement.

Justice SMS Atiq Shah and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah heard on Wednesday the petition filed against declaring Pashtun Tahafuz Moment as a banned organization.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that the Pashtun Protection Movement has been declared invalid and an attempt is being made to thwart the Pashtun Grand Jirga.

The lawyer added that ‘the grounds on which the Pashtun Protection Movement has been declared null and void have not been provided to us.

Justice SM Atiq Shah inquired that ‘did the federal government issue the declaration of ban?’

On which the Additional Attorney General told the court that ‘the decision to ban the organization has been taken by the Federal Cabinet.’

Justice Sahibzada Asadullah said that ‘on what grounds PTM has been declared null and void should be provided to the petitioner.’

Along with this, the court adjourned the hearing till October 15.
