Energy Hub of Latin America: Paraguay Summit Sets Stage for Sustainable Future

Asunción, IP Agency.- More than 1,500 people have confirmed their presence for the IX Energy Week of the Latin American Energy Organization (Olade), which will take place from October 28 to November 1, 2024 in Asunción, at the headquarters of the Cultural Center of the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP).

For this event, more than 1,500 people have already registered, including representatives of more than 40 companies in the energy sector in Latin America, according to the report from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

The Vice Minister of Mines and Energy, Mauricio Bejarano, called on all those interested in the sector to register and participate. “We invite everyone to register on the page of the Latin American Energy Organization. This meeting has important background and offers enriching colloquiums and debates,” said Bejarano.

Among the confirmed participants are internationally renowned figures and leaders in the sector, who will seek to establish business alliances and explore new investment opportunities.

“The participation of these experts will provide a comprehensive vision of the challenges and opportunities facing the region,” added the senior official, underlining the relevance of the activity.

Main activities

Energy Week will include a ministerial meeting on October 30 and 31, where crucial decisions will be made with repercussions throughout Latin America. “We hope that both attendees and those participating from the country can take advantage of this energy week, which will truly be a momentous event at the national level,” Bejarano emphasized.

The program will culminate on November 1 with a visit to the Itaipu hydroelectric plant, a symbol of energy integration and an emblem of renewable energy generation globally. In this regard, the vice minister highlighted that ‘Itaipu continues to be number one in hydroelectric generation in the world, which represents a source of pride for our country.’
