Austrian Digital Leap: 3 in 4 Citizens Unlock the Power of E-Government

In this country, 72 percent of the 55 plus age group use e-government services, 75 percent of 35 to 54 year olds and 78 percent of 16 to 34 year olds. 61 percent of those who have already used e-government services did so via their smartphone or tablet in the previous year. Just as many Austrians want the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in administration if it increases quality and efficiency.

“It is important to me that everyone in Austria is so familiar with digitalization that they can cope with everyday life,” emphasized Digitalization State Secretary Claudia Plakolm (ÖVP) in a press release.
