In addition to making jokes about her, the children of the former president and Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Even the journalist himself urged his audience to draw their own guesses from his sudden dismissal.

“Why did he do that rude thing? Look, what I do is political criticism, so I think you can make your own conclusions.”

For her part, Marina referred to Macalpin as a family friend, dispelling speculation that linked the incident to her personal environment. “Here surprised with the topic of our friend Gustavo Macalpi. Let me tell you first of all, Gustavo is a friend of the family, of my husband, of mine… personal. We love him very much, we really enjoy his program. Unfortunately I can’t watch the program as often as I would like, because at that time I’m sleeping with babies, children with my daughter Marinita, or I’m still arranging things for the next day. Or I am deeply asleep as was the case yesterday (…) this morning I found out what happened,” she said.

“I am just as surprised as all of you and I wish Gustavo always that he does very well, I hope to see him soon on television, on his social networks. We admire him, we like his content, the political satire he generally does. I wanted to make this clarification because I have seen it on social networks and I hope for all the followers of Gustavo Macalpin that we can see them soon on a program.”

“We studied law together since university and we respect their work, the work of all those who are dedicated to communication, to journalism. In Baja California we are extremely respectful of freedom of expression,” he said.
