Rapid developments in SYRIZA as on Saturday (08/10/2024) the Central Committee meets for the deletion of Stefanos Kasselakis.
On the occasion of the out-of-court letter sent by Mr. Kasselakis and with which he requested an investigation into the leak of his Pothen Esches and the deletion of Rania Sviggou, Olga Gerovasili had earlier requested that the issue of deletion of the ousted president of the party be raised.
The Political Secretariat sent back to Stefanos Kasselakis the extra-judicial case with him now threatening to request the intervention of a prosecutor.

“The extrajudicial order of Stefanos Kasselakis is addressed to the members of the P.G. and to the members of the Central Committee, who must receive it. So there must be an extraordinary convocation of the Central Committee. My personal opinion is that we respond to this with deletion”, emphasized Olga Gerovasili in her statement.
Polakis: Kasselakis to withdraw the unacceptable extrajudicial within 1-2 hours
“Mr. Kasselakis has shown once again that he is afraid of recourse to the base and pushed the situation to the extreme with his unprecedented move. He threatens to sue his entire party. In the post-revolutionary years, it is unprecedented for him to send a prosecutor to the party he wants to lead,” he adds.
In closing, the vice-president of the Parliament expresses her assessment that Stefanos Kasselakis “wants to torpedo the climate due to his fear of appealing to the grassroots, I wonder why he did not send an extradition to the newspaper, but to PG and KE”.
Polakis: Kasselakis to withdraw the unacceptable extrajudicial within 1-2 hours
At the same time, Pavlos Polakis, co-candidate of Stefanos Kasselakis, asks him to withdraw the “unacceptable” extrajudicial action against the party he wants to lead.
“As much as it is unacceptable to leak information about who you are in the mass media, it is 100 times more unacceptable that a presidential candidate, according to his statement, sends an extra-judicial letter to the Political Secretariat and the Central Committee of the party he wants to lead,” he noted, while , as he said, during his intervention he asked that his own account be posted today, as well as the others.
He also called on Stefanos Kasselakis “today, within one or two hours, to take back the unacceptable extrajudicial order to the PG and the Central Committee of the party he wants to lead through an electoral democratic process”.
He also emphasized the need to set an appointment “today-tomorrow” with all the candidates, in person or through representatives, under the responsibility of Rania Svigou, in order to set teleconference dates and enter “a pre-election process with unanimity and with programmatic confrontation not with this parapolitics”, which as he said, “puts a very bad image out”.
He suggested that a debate be held before the conference.
“There is no question of erasing a presidential candidate”
Regarding the issue of deleting Stefanos Kasselakis, he said that “there is no question of deleting a presidential candidate”, as this shows “weakness” and he confirmed that some members of the PG raised it “unacceptably”.
Finally, he stated that the PG will respond to the court and reiterated that we must “proceed in terms of politics and not para-politics and malice”.
“The role of SYRIZA is to become the official opposition and to overthrow Mitsotakis the day after tomorrow,” he concluded.
Ragousis: Let all the candidates take their positions
For his part, the former minister, Yiannis Ragoussis, took a position saying that: “the KE must be convened because the current development with the criminalization of party life – due to historical and political gravity – escapes the competence of the PG”.

Notopoulou: Extraordinary convocation of the KE
According to information, during her intervention, Katerina Notopoulou requested an extraordinary convocation of the EC to reject the candidacy of Kasselakis, as she argued that “it intensifies the climate of dissolution and conflict”, while she accused him of “not respecting the constitutional principles and decisions ».
Also, Katerina Notopoulou requested the referral of Stefanos Kasselakis to the Ethics Committee with a request for deletion.
Zachariadis: We cannot allow Kasselakis to dissolve SYRIZA
“We cannot allow Stefanos Kasselakis to dissolve SYRIZA. If he wants to dissolve him, he should try to do it outside SYRIZA.
He cannot be a member of the party, he cannot be a presidential candidate. “No one has ever sent an extrajudicial party to a party they want to lead,” said Kostas Zachariadis.
