On the night of Monday, October 7, during the final block of his program Ciudadano 2.0, Gustavo Macalpin received the owner of the television station, Luis Arnoldo Cabada Alvídrez, who thanked him for more than six years of service and told him publicly that it was his last day on the television show.
The presenter took the news with surprise and thanked; However, this Tuesday, October 8, he said that the decision to inform him of his dismissal in the middle of a live broadcast was “rude” and “a baseness,” since he was not notified beforehand about the end of the collaboration with the television channel. Journalist Gustavo Macalpin made comments regarding the appointment, and said that the decision was part of Torres’ intentions to seek the municipal presidency of Tijuana in 2027. Del Pilar expressed that he made this clarification due to the comments that have arisen on social networks that it had something to do with his arrest. She also said that her husband also has a good relationship with the journalist.
