One of this year’s “Farmen” participants, Madelen Mindresunde, now says that she dreads watching the program and herself on TV. She does not recognize herself in the way she is portrayed in the popular farm programme.
– It has really taken a toll on me mentally. “The farm” has been a dream of mine for an incredibly long time, but then it turned out to be something completely different than I had imagined. Now I’m not sure if it was even worth taking part in, Mindresunde tells TV 2and continues:

– There is no depth in Madeleine on TV, no humor or self-irony. In reality, I have a bone in my nose. I see everyone around me, not just myself. I’m not a whiner or a spanker. Both I and those around me know that.

The reactions from the viewers have also been different than she imagined, as she is not portrayed in a way she recognises.
Keeping the relationship hidden
– People write that I’m fake and that I don’t have anything in my head. There has been a lot of talk that I lack personality and that I am annoying, she says to TV 2, and adds that it is important for her to show that she is not the person they see on “The Farm”.
Se og Hør has been in contact with TV 2’s press manager, Jan-Petter Dahl. Like to TV 2, he says that it is sad that the participant thinks the portrayal of her is wrong, and that it has affected her in that way.

Dahl also says that there are many participants and a lot of material from the “Farmen” farm, but that no choice is made in the clip as to whether individual participants should be presented in one way or another. At the same time, they understand that it can feel unfair that you don’t get to show off your whole self.
– Easy to misstep
He also says that they are concerned with looking after the participants in the program – both during and after recording. Psychologists and relevant professionals at the production company Strix and in the channel are part of it.
– We are grateful and happy that Madelen joined “The Farm” and has contributed to creating engaging and entertaining programmes. She showed great dedication to the participation, which really left a mark on the farm. We greatly appreciate her participation and hope she has good memories of the experience. And we are sure that she will show more sides of herself in the programs to come, says Dahl to Se og Hør.
