G. Giedraitytė is the organizer of the annual international contemporary arts festival “PLarTFORMA”, a member of the selection and monitoring board of the European Union program “European Capital of Culture”. 2019-2023 she was the creative producer of the Sheik Dance Theater. Currently chairs the Association of Non-Governmental Performing Arts Organizations, 2021-2023. was the chairwoman of the Council of Professional Performing Arts Institutions.
G. Giedraitytė has a master’s degree in cultural policy and management at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and a master’s degree in medieval studies at the Central European University, she has taught at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and Klaipėda University.
As a member of the creative group, G. Giedraitytė was awarded the “Golden Cross of the Stage”, Neringa and Klaipėda municipalities awards.
Seven applicants participated in the competition. The commission consisted of: Deputy Minister of Culture Daina Urbanavičienė (chairperson of the commission), Janina Krušinskaitė, head of the Professional Creativity and Internationalization Policy Group of the Ministry of Culture, Svetlana Kneziauskaitė, adviser of the Law and Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Culture, musicologist, musical theater expert, music historian, delegate of the Council of Professional Performing Arts Institutions representative Daiva Kšanienė, expert in the field of dance, creator, pedagogue, representative of the Council of Professional Performing Arts Institutions Lina Puodziukaitė-Lanauskienė.
The term of office of the head of the Klaipėda State Musical Theater is five years.
The Klaipėda State Musical Theater is the largest cultural institution in Northern and Western Lithuania, the most modern theater in Lithuania, which opened its doors to visitors after reconstruction in 2024. The purpose of the theater is to implement the state policy in the field of professional performing arts: to form a unique direction of professional performing arts and to present classical and contemporary professional performing arts of high artistic value in Lithuania and abroad, to develop public demand for professional performing arts, to ensure the availability of professional performing arts to all groups of the country’s society.
