Shifting Gears: The High-Speed Quest for Fair Labor Practices in Modern Transit

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Interinstitutional Transport Commission, which brings together representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Dinatran and IPS, addressed the progress of the socialization process of the project to Modernize the Public Passenger Transport System promoted by the Vice Ministry of Transport.

The designers presented to the Commission the central aspects of the initiative that aims to improve the quality of public transport service, guaranteeing compliance with the rights of workers in the sector.

Among the highlights were the intention to reduce waiting time for users, the gradual incorporation of new buses, as well as the creation of exclusive stops and lanes to optimize urban mobility. The objective is to offer a more comfortable and accessible service, in addition to reducing operating costs.

During the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Dinatran and the Social Security Institute (IPS) held consultations on how these measures could affect workers in the sector.

The Vice Minister of Transportation, Emiliano R Fernández, assured that one of the fundamental axes of this modernization is to ensure that labor rights are not affected and that the proposed changes are positive for all those involved.
