Klopp Leaves Liverpool Legacy for Austrian Adventure: The Shocking Twist That’s Redefining the Red Bull Empire

Jürgen Klopp joins Red Bull. The successful German coach becomes “Head of Global Soccer” at the beverage company from Fuschl. Corresponding reports from the Kronen Zeitung, the Bild-Zeitung and Sky coincide with APA information. According to Krone, the long-time Liverpool coach is signing a four-year contract and will start work on January 1, 2025.

Leaving Liverpool early

The 57-year-old Klopp left Liverpool early after the past season and repeatedly emphasized that he wanted to take a break from football first. At Red Bull, the position of “football boss” has been vacant since Oliver Mintzlaff stepped down. Mintzlaff is now Red Bull managing director.

There had already been rumors about Klopp joining Red Bull in the summer. But that was denied at the time. Pepijn Lijnders, a former Klopp assistant and confidant, has been hired as head coach at the currently struggling Austrian former champions Salzburg.
