Monster Energy Yamaha RACER Fabio Quartararo said his team had experienced improvements in terms of motorbike performance ahead of the Japanese GP at the Motegi Circuit, Japan, this weekend.

This can be seen from Quartararo who managed to finish P7 at the Indonesian GP at the Mandalika International Circuit, last weekend. Therefore, the French racer is determined to maintain this momentum.

“After a positive weekend in Indonesia, we are in Japan for Yamaha’s home GP. The last few race weekends have been positive. We saw some improvements, so we feel good,” said Quartararo, quoted from Yamaha’s official statement, Thursday (3/ 10).

Regarding his record at Motegi, Quartararo has only participated in three MotoGP class races at that circuit.

He managed to achieve one podium, securing second place in 2019. Furthermore, he won eighth place in 2022, and finished tenth in 2023.

“We will try our best again to get good results,” said Quartararo.

Quartararo’s teammate, Alex Rins, wants to get more points in the race in Japan later. Rins has memories
beautiful about the Motegi track as he stood third on the premier class podium here in 2018.

“Motegi is a good circuit, and we have the support of Yamaha head office and the fans, so let’s see what happens
we can do it later,” said Rins.

The Japanese GP will start on Friday (4/10) with practice sessions at 08.45 WIB and 13.00 WIB.

On Saturday (5/10), the second free practice session started at 08.10 WIB, followed by a qualifying session at 08.50 WIB, and the Sprint Race at 13.00 WIB.

The main race itself will be held on Sunday (6/10) at 12.00 WIB. (Ant/Z-1)
