The statement added: “Some media outlets are launching crazy, slanderous and treasonous campaigns against the military institution and its leadership in the service of narrow interests and political goals. The army leadership confirms that it will not enter into debates or bidding, and is not concerned with any files or entitlements. The priority today for the leadership is to protect the institution and maintain its cohesion, stop the aggression, remain steadfast, support citizens, keep pace with the displacement crisis, and continue rescue operations in coordination with the competent agencies, coinciding with maintaining civil peace and internal stability.
The statement stressed: “Experiences have proven that the army is the institution that constitutes the backbone of Lebanon and the guarantee for all Lebanese, which confirms the importance of their rallying around it, as we look forward to the success of international efforts to stop the Israeli aggression as soon as possible.”
He concluded: “The army remains united by the determination, faith and will of its soldiers, and the unity of the Lebanese around its unifying role. What is required today is to preserve national unity to preserve Lebanon, which will overcome this ordeal as it has overcome and overcome past crises and challenges.”
