Shattering Expectations: ‘Challenger’ Takes Norwegian Television by Storm

“Gauteshow” barely had time to finish broadcasting before NRK now announces a new series in which Sami people, gender and minorities are apparently to be made fun of.

In the series “Hellerudsvingen” from NRK P3, “coarse-grained humor” comes in a “South Park”-like animation format.

Behind is NRK’s new radar couple Erlend Mørch (30) and Steinar Klouman Hallert (31).

– Tear my hair

Subject-editor postponed

The trailer, which has been released by NRK, hints at rough scenes in which several well-known Norwegian profiles apparently have to go through the motions.

An animated version of Subject editor Danby Choi receives oral sex while he asks in a broken accent if he should write a case about it in his newspaper.

NRK’s Fredrik Solvang leads “The Debate” and confronts Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre with the fact that eight out of ten are disappointed by his penis size.

Neither Choi nor the two comedians have responded to Dagbladet’s inquiries. Solvang laughingly tells Dagbladet that he does not want to comment on the short clip.

About the end in NRK: – Shut up

– I didn’t

Mørch and Hallert are known from the comedy milieu Nieu and for having taken 12 electric scooters hostage on a raft at Holmedammen in Oslo.

They are also behind the series “Sigurd fåkke pult” and several podcasts.

In the series, which premieres on 17 October, they will return to their childhood.

In their podcast “Both Erlend and Steinar”, the two discuss what kind of reception they expect. Mørch says that he has met Danby Choi in the hallways at NRK.

– Did you think that we have some kind of violent parody of him in Hellerudsvingen? asks Hallert.

– I considered telling him. Let it be. Because I came up with the parody’s content, answers Mørch in the podcast.

– Had complexes

45 complaints against “Gauteshow” were processed by the Broadcasting Council earlier this year. The “Gauteshow” presenter cheers on his colleagues.

“We are looking forward to this!!!!!” writes Gaute Berg Næss to Steinar Klouman Hallert on Instagram.

Mørch and Hallert were brought from Discovery to NRK last year.

The two themselves said the following last year about why they started in the state channel:

– All my adult life I have had complexes because I have not served Norway. I was never in the military, but by working for NRK it is finally my turn to contribute to my country, said Mørch.

– I start at NRK because Erlend does, said Hallert.
