CANCUN, Q. ROO.- Starting this October 9, the delivery of approximately 44 thousand pairs of school tennis shoes that were pending will resume, in addition to the fact that the distribution began at the offices of the Secretariat of Social and Economic Development of Benito Juárez for those students who are lagging behind in the schools where they have already distributed.
Berenice Sosa Osorio, Secretary of Social and Economic Development, explained that, derived from problems such as school holidays during September, and the two recent hurricanes, some suspensions had to be made to the delivery program.
However, they hope to conclude these deliveries during the next two weeks, for which they already have a schedule and support from various City Hall agencies, which through eight routes will travel through the missing schools and provide the students with this support.
He recalled that, in the case of tennis exchanges by size, or for delivery to late students, that is, those who were not there on the day they came to deliver the footwear, they have a period from October 7 to 11 to go to the facilities of the Municipal Secretariat of Social and Economic Development to collect them.
For this process, he noted, the student’s CUPR, current student credential and official identification with a photograph of the parent or guardian must be presented, between 09:00 in the morning and 04:00 in the afternoon; So far, only two people have come to the offices to do this process.
Likewise, he indicated that, having received the last trailer with tennis shoes, a message was sent to the directors of the schools where they have already gone to make the deliveries so that they, in turn, inform the missing parents so that they can come. to collect them from the Secretariat and not lose this support.
“I can almost assure you that we are going to take this week and a few days of next week to conclude with the final delivery of the tennis shoes, and also with this great mission and entrustment that both the state government and the governor gave us. (Mara Lezama), as well as our municipal president (Ana Paty Peralta), to work as a team and collaborate with the Ministry of Education to not duplicate support, that is, today they delivered backpacks, we delivered tennis shoes, and it is this teamwork to support Cancun families,” he concluded.
