Caazapá, IP.- The Public Works and Communications Ministry’s Road Planning Directorate has launched various initiatives to upgrade roads in Caazapá. These projects involve constructing cobblestone pavement, reinforced concrete bridges, and rehabilitating local roads.
Rodolfo Segovia, local roads director at the institution, mentioned that the cobblestone construction project covers the San Cristóbal-Tuparendá-Tuna section, spanning 27 kilometers. This will directly benefit the municipalities of San Cristótal and Avaí. The Ita Pirú Consortium is responsible for the project, valued at 26,824,536,460 guaraníes.
Segovia also noted that rehabilitation and paving work is being carried out on Route No. 8 “Dr. Blas Garay” in the Caazapá-Yuty section. The project includes repairing access roads to Caazapá, Maciel, Bertoni, and Yegros, as well as building a reinforced concrete bridge over the Pirapó River. Ilsung Construction LTD is handling the project, worth 351,417,857,025 guaraníes.
He highlighted that the rehabilitation of Route No. 8 in the Ñumi-Caazapá section, stretching 26.80 kilometers, is another project being developed in the VI department. Proel Engineering was awarded the contract to execute the tasks, valued at 39,963,253,923 guaraníes.
The Ñumi Consortium, which secured a contract worth 21,760,346,115 guaraníes, is responsible for improving and rehabilitating unpaved roads in the Caazapá-Boquerón section, which spans 14.30 kilometers.
Additional Projects
Segovia mentioned that the MOPC is also making improvements in the Abaí district, specifically in the Enramadita-Cantina Cué section and in Cruce Borda-San Agustín. Furthermore, the MOPC is constructing a reinforced concrete bridge over the Itá Stream, spanning 12.00 meters, in the Abaí-Tuparenda section.
