Miguel Reyes, as a candidate for Governor of the state.

The event was chaired by the first vice president of the white awning at the national level, Roberto Sánchez Fortoul, who highlighted that being aware that the government has the strategy of launching regional elections in the middle of 2025, they thought about the figure of Miguel Reyes because he is a man positioned in the politics of the region.

“Miguel Reyes, who has been working in the most difficult times of the party, has been here fighting with all of you here in the state of Táchira. Although he is guaro, I am also Argentine guaro, Miguel Reyes has spent his entire life here in Táchira, and I brought him, it was a gift, because I believe that at some point he stacked up and due to many circumstances he was not the candidate, and now We are telling him, now it is the black man’s turn, the black man for the governorship, the black man to recover democracy here in this state, and above all to improve the quality of life of the people here,” he expressed.

Controlled transition

The national leader of AD highlighted that if it has not been possible to change the national government, the strategy they propose is to recover and accumulate forces in the state governorates and in the country’s mayoralties in order to begin a controlled transition.

“What has been seen in the electoral polls is that people want a change, people want to change in Venezuela, they want to change here in Táchira, and I believe that it is a great opportunity that we have next year with the regional elections , so that we can then begin what must be the re-institutionalization of the state, through the rescue of the government of Táchira,” he said. He specified that Táchira is a pilot state and one of the most important governorates, not only because of the border issue, but because at the national level it has fought.
