Several US states have also launched stimulus programs. In California, residents with annual incomes less than $75,000 can receive $350 through a tax refund. Idaho offers $300 to individual taxpayers and $600 to couples.
Rhode Island, South Carolina and Virginia have also implemented similar programs, with payments ranging from $250 to $800, depending on the conditions of each state.
Finally, these payments in Alaska are due to a special scheme where the state’s natural resources are distributed. The combination of the Permanent Fund Dividend and energy assistance form a sizable package to support residents in the colder months.
