Beyond the Ashes: A Path to Swift Redemption for Those Left Scathed

Attica, Boeotia, Corinthia, Rhodes are the areas that have been affected by the devastating fires and already the recording of the damages has started from the area of Saronida.

At the Ministry of Finance, they are preparing to activate the compensation procedures for the fire victims, after of course the relevant damage registration is completed. The “model” that will be adopted is similar to that used in previous fires.

The model in question provided for the availability in advance and immediately with “express” procedures of an amount of 20,000 euros to each fire victim for the repair of his residence: With a simple application and without requiring a thorough check in the first stage, the specific amount was awarded to those who suffered damage to their homes from the fury of the fiery blaze.

Compensation up to 120,000 euros

In other words, the Finance Ministry’s plan is to stick to the “line” of giving a flat-rate home repair advance to those living in areas declared a state of emergency, and checking after the fact.

However, this advance payment is part of the so-called housing assistance, which consists of 80% free government aid and 20% interest-free loan guaranteed by the Greek State and was granted to the owners of the affected buildings for the purpose of their rehabilitation (repair or reconstruction, depending on the damage they present).

The amount of housing assistance could reach 120,000 euros.

With a simple application and the check to confirm the data to follow in a second time, Municipalities and KEP accepted the applications as of course the special electronic platform arogi.gov.gr.
