Citizens have been allowed to change the color of their vehicles. In this regard, the Kuwaiti government has instructed that citizens can change their vehicles to dull or bright colors.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has announced that it is now legally permissible to repaint vehicles with matte paint or glossy paint, but citizens must meet the following legal requirements for this.
In the rules issued by the Ministry of Interior, it is stated that prior permission must be obtained from the Technical Inspection Department and the International Information and Metrology Department for this work.
Apart from this, the ministry has directed that the color used on the vehicles should be standard and stable and this color should not match the official vehicles.
Regarding the further steps related to changing the color of the vehicle, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior says that those who wish to do so must first apply on Formcom to get the color of the vehicle.
After that, the vehicle has to be brought to the Technical Inspection Department, Capital Governorate and International Standards Section for initial approval, to one of the workshops or companies to carry out the coating process.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, after the painting process, the insurance documents will have to be reissued and the information regarding the new color change must be entered.
Apart from this, the vehicle has to be brought back to the Technical Inspection Department, Capital Governorate and International Standards Section to change or add the vehicle data on the computer.
After changing the color of the vehicle, various parts of the license will be revised to print the vehicle book according to the new data.
