The president of the Association Venezuelan of Wholesalers and Tourist Representation Companies (Avemarep), Dora Ríos, expressed her concern about the new measure that requires Venezuelans to present updated documents to enter the country, since she considers that this represents a “significant obstacle” for those who wish to travel.
He specified that this measure will have an impact on the number of visitors to the most popular tourist destinations in Venezuela and recalled that Venezuelans who reside abroad usually return during the Christmas holidays or on significant dates.
«I am sure that this will be a significant impact unless between now and December there are different, more flexible measures and this situation can improve.«he pointed out.
Tourism sector calls on the authorities
In this sense, he called on the authorities to reconsider the decision, since it is causing unfortunate effects.
He highlighted that Venezuelans who have an expired ID card and passport, but who have another nationality or residence in another country, can enter the territory. On the other hand, citizens who do not meet these conditions must apply for a safe conduct.
