Earlier this April, Swift appeared on Forbes’ annual billionaires list for the first time, and on October 5, the magazine updated her wealth figures to include earnings from her ‘Eras’ tour and sales of her musician directory.
According to the report, Taylor Swift now tops the list of the richest female musicians – surpassing Rihanna, who reportedly has a net worth of $1.4 billion.
However, according to Forbes, Rihanna retains the title of “richest female musician of all time” as her fortune once stood at $1.77 billion.
Taylor Swift is also at number 2 on the list of the richest musicians, regardless of gender, with Jay-Z taking the top spot with an estimated fortune of $2.5 billion.
Forbes estimates that Taylor Swift has raked in $600 million from her royalties and tours, and another $600 million from her music catalog.
Much of the revenue comes from albums re-recorded by the singer in an attempt to regain control of her top recordings. The most recent was the re-release of her 2014 album ‘1989’, which outsold the original record.
Forbes also reports that he earned $125 million from real estate and reportedly also collected $100 million from Spotify streaming rights alone last year, thanks to his 2022 albums ‘Midnights’ and ‘1989 (19 Taylor Edition)’.
