Ahead of the rector election, the Indonesian Education University (UPI) held an election for the Board of Trustees (MWA). The selection team for MWA candidates for the 2025-2030 period is now opening registration for prospective MWA members who come from elements of society.
Chair of the 2025-2030 UPI MWA Selection Team, Prof. Dadang Sunendar, on Monday (7/10) said that there are several important criteria for prospective MWA members from elements of society. These criteria include commitment and interest in developing UPI, both in academic and non-academic aspects.
Apart from that, candidates are expected to have the ability to build networks at both national and international levels to support the development of UPI. Candidates must also have moral integrity, achievements and character at the national or international level are also requirements.

“Candidates are required to have a good insight into UPI as a state university with legal status and not have the status of a UPI employee,” he explained.
Other requirements, added Prof. Dadang, include physical and mental health, readiness to contribute to the progress of UPI, not having any legal problems as a suspect and stating his willingness in writing.
The registration process will take place from 7 to 25 October 2024. The registration form can be downloaded via the website www.upi.edu or taken directly at the Indonesian Education University, Jalan Dr Setiabudhi No. 229 Bandung, in the University Center Building, 3rd Floor, UPI Academic Senate Secretariat Room on weekdays from Monday to Friday, from 08.00 to 15.00 WIB.

“The determination of prospective members of the UPI MWA is scheduled for October 30 2024, and the election of MWA members will be held at the UPI Academic Senate Plenary Meeting between 26 and 29 November 2024,” he said.
Dadang explained that the selection process for MWA members consisted of three stages: preparation, selection and selection. The preparation stage includes preparing a screening plan which will be carried out on October 3 2024. The screening stage includes taking forms and registration which can be done directly at the committee secretariat or via the website from 7 to 25 October 2024.
“Prospective MWA members are required to submit a registration form and required documents to the committee secretariat,” he said.
Furthermore, verification of the completeness of the requirements will be carried out on 28 to 30 October 2024.
If the number of candidates is no more than three people, the determination of prospective MWA members will be carried out on 30 October 2024. However, if there are more than three people, the election will be held simultaneously at the UPI Bumi Siliwangi campus and five UPI campuses in the regions on 11 to 12 November 2024 .
