Accelerating Progress: Revolutionizing Toll Plazas for a Smoother Ride

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications is advancing in the modernization of toll plazas, by improving signage and technology in all its stations, prioritizing the safety and comfort of users on national highways.

In this framework, a new call was published on the Public Procurement portal with ID No. 447,692 for the acquisition of equipment and the presentation of offers was set for Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 09:00 a.m., at MOPC Single Entry Desk.

This project joins other recent advances such as the implementation of electronic payment at the 16 collection points throughout the country. The system allows users to pay the transit fee electronically using debit, credit cards or QR codes, resulting in a more agile, secure and transparent service.

With an estimated investment of G. 3,503,066,667, the tender is divided into two main lots. The first focuses on signage with LED signs, which includes safety measures, electrical plans, user manuals and technical training.

This entire process is framed in the institutional policy of transparency in resource management and reaffirms the commitment to the continuous improvement of the country’s road infrastructure, seeking not only technological modernization, but also a positive impact on the experience of citizens.

The signs will be installed at strategic toll plazas such as Remanso, Ecovía and Héroes del Chaco.

The second lot covers horizontal and vertical signage in 15 positions managed by the MOPC, including the installation of gantry-type signs with the nomination of each toll in corporeal letter illuminated with LEDs, in 9 of them.

The required equipment is high-tech, resistant to adverse environmental conditions such as humidity, dust and soot. The technical specifications have been designed to guarantee their reliability and durability, ensuring that they have all the necessary security support and certifications.

One more step in modernization

The implementation of this technology not only means more payment facilities, it also contributed to a significant increase in collection, thanks to the inclusion of preventive control systems, staff training and better information for users.
