Samurai Revival: The Stealthy Fighter Emerges from the Shadows in Season 2

This year’s 45th issue of the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump of Shueisha revealed that the television adaptation of the manga The Elusive Samurai (Nigejōzu no Wakagimi), di Yūsei Matsui, will have one second season.

The first season, which debuted on Crunchyroll last June 6 simulcast, received a English dubbing in August. Directed by Yuta Yamazaki (Wonder Egg Priority, Love Rice) at the studio of CloverWorks,has the character design of Yasushi Nishiya (Pokémon the Movie: Inside Us, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!). The opening theme was “Plan A”, by DISH//, while the artist Botchi Boromaru he performed the closing one, “Kamakura STYLE”. There is still no certain news, however, on the staff of the second season of The Elusive Samurai.

As already mentioned, the anime is based on the manga of the same name by Yūsei Matsui, serialized in Japan by Manga Plus. The author, famous for works such as Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro e Assassination Classroombegan serialization of The Elusive Samurai are Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2021. The series, still ongoing, continues to arouse interest also among Italian readers thanks to the translation edited by Panini Comics.

The story follows Tokiyuki, who, after having witnessed the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, he manages to escape with the help of some faithful servants, who escaped the carnage. Among these there is Suwa Yorishigean ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province.

Yorishige claims to have powers of clairvoyance and predicts that one day Tokiyuki will become the ruler of Japan. However, for now, the only thing that matters is escaping your enemies!
