The newspaper stated that the stated goal is to enhance cooperation on “the issues at hand” and to continue dialogue with the United States and its security forces.

Defense Ministry Press Secretary Patrick Ryder announced in a blog post on the “X” platform that Gallant will make an official visit on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing security developments in the Middle East.

He added that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin looks forward to meeting Gallant again in Washington, DC.

The visit comes amid severe tensions in the region in anticipation of an Israeli attack on Iran.

Israeli forces promised to take “significant measures” in response to the large-scale ballistic missile attack launched by Iran on October 1.
