The well-known actress gave an interview to “Loipon” magazine and Andreas Theodorou and explained how she went from “Theodora” of “Sasmos” to “Chloe” of “Holy Love”, while also referring to a love that turned out to be toxic in her life.
From the very first episode, while he had known Father Nikolas for a few hours, he ran to him to ask for help. Why did he do that?
“Sometimes you see a person on the street, exchange glances and feel something. It’s not love at first sight, but a connection. So something drew Chloe to this man. He feels that he will be the only one who will understand her and be able to help her… At first they develop an innocent contact, because they are both in the same situation, however it is as if there is a magnet that pulls them together and they cannot understand why this is happening . It’s not exactly love, it’s something else that we as actors discover as well as the audience as the episodes go by.”
In your personal life have you felt this connection with someone?
“Yes, it has happened to me before when I was little. Near my teenage years I felt a very intense attraction to a person, an intense connection. But this love was toxic and in the end it didn’t work out for me. The truth is, how many times does a love that you fall head over heels turn out to be good? Rarely. And of course I had become toxic, it’s not always the other person’s fault.”
How difficult was it for you to transition from the role of “Theodora” in “Samos” to that of “Chloe” in “Holy Love”?
“The only thing similar is that we are again in a village, it is the only common element with “Sasmos”. This role is a very big challenge for me and imagine that on Friday we did the last shooting of “Sasmos” and on Monday I had to do the screen test for “Holy Love”. So I had to be “Chloe” in two twenty-four hours and it was difficult when I think about it. At that moment when I was also tired, I said to myself that “you will not sit down to think and analyze anything. Let the text take you”. I walked into a shoot where everyone was gathered, stomachs clenched and I went straight into a situation. In fact, when I put on the student apron, the whole posture changed and I got into the role straight away.”
