KPK OTT PUPR Service Official in South Kalimantan

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reportedly carried out an Arrest Operation (OTT) of officials from the South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Service.

In the OTT which was carried out on Sunday (6/10) morning, private parties (contractors) were also arrested. Banjarbaru City Police was the location for questioning the suspects by the KPK investigative team.

The Head of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Winarto, when confirmed Monday (7/10), confirmed that there was an OTT operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission in South Kalimantan. “The OTT examination was held at the Banjarbaru Police Headquarters. There were seven people being questioned in connection with alleged corruption in infrastructure development projects in South Kalimantan,” said the Regional Police Chief.

Winarto added that the South Kalimantan Regional Police only helped and provided a place, but the KPK colleagues carried out the handling. Winarto also said that he did not know for sure the names and parties affected by OTT.

Information was gathered by officials affected by OTT, Head of Human Settlements, South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department and seven people from contractors and other private parties. There are also those who have been brought to Jakarta.

The chairman of the DPRD of South Kalimantan Province, Supian HK, expressed his concern and admitted that he was surprised regarding the news of the OTT by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Committee in South Kalimantan. Supian emphasized that his party supports the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission’s steps regarding handling corruption cases in infrastructure development in this province. “Hopefully this can be a lesson for us,” he said.

Monitoring Indonesian Mediathe atmosphere at the South Kalimantan PUPR Service office was quiet and no officials came to the office on Monday (7/10). “There are no officials coming to the office, only staff,” said M Kodir, Security Guard at the South Kalimantan PUPR Service. (DY/J-3)
